Travel Creator Academy

Welcome to the Founders Cohort.

Six weeks with Maddie and me. Twenty creators. Everything you need to work with brands.

The two team members you’ll work with directly:

This isn’t just videos, and it isn’t just calls. For six weeks, Maddie and I work with every member personally. I review every piece of work you make, and Maddie checks in with you every week. That’s why there are only 20 seats.

Founder

I’ve built a living from brand work while travelling, and I made most of the mistakes on the way. I teach every live call. I personally review every piece of work every member makes, across the whole cohort: your profile, your media kit, your pitches, your edits. I’ll tell you straight what’s working and what isn’t, and I’m with you for the whole six weeks.

Director of Member Experience

Maddie keeps everyone accountable. She checks in with you every week, gets you unstuck when you stall, and makes sure the work actually gets done. Her job is that every member succeeds.

What that looks like

  • I review everything you make.

Your profile, your reel, your three spec ads, your media kit and your pitches. Nothing you make goes unseen.

  • Every call is live, with me.

I teach both calls every week myself. Bring your questions.

  • Start to finish, together.

We start in Week 0 with my review of your profile, and finish at graduation with your Day 1 next to where you are now.

Films I made for brands.

Real briefs from real clients, shot and edited by me. This is the kind of work the cohort is built to get you.

Every week ends with something built.

Two live calls a week: one is the full teaching call, the other is a workshop where members take the hot seat and get their work reviewed on screen. In between, I review what you make and Maddie checks in to make sure everything gets done.

Self-paced, before the first call. Week 0 begins January 4: short videos from me, your setup, and a personal review of your profile before Week 1.

  • Short Loom videos from me: who we are, and what TCA is and isn’t
  • How brands actually buy: making, posting and reusing content, and why what you make can sell before you’re known
  • The order paid work usually comes in, so you start on the right rung
  • A week, simplified: one teaching call, one workshop and consistent check-ins from Maddie
  • Send me your starting point: your socials, a screenshot of your last 30 days of insights, and your media kit if you have one
  • I review your profile personally before Week 1, so you start the first call knowing what to fix

You walk out with

Your setup working, your profile reviewed, and a Day-1 baseline we compare you against in Week 6.

Work out what you make, who it’s for, and say it in one line.

  • My story, the honest version: all the things that failed before I found travel content
  • What makes a creator valuable to a brand, besides follower count
  • Influencer, creator, UGC: what each one is, and what each one sells
  • The positioning formula, and writing your one line
  • Your bio, highlights, pinned posts, link and contact, fixed the same night
  • Your profile, rebuilt from my Week 0 review: does it say the same thing as your content?

You walk out with

Your profile optimized and ready to build on, as the foundation for the cohort.

Make content with intentionality, with a system you can keep up while you travel.

  • The importance of hooks and retention rate
  • Story structure: hook, story, payoff, and scripting a 30-second reel live together
  • The value of focusing on the story in travel content
  • A posting rhythm you can keep in a heavy travel week, and your 30-day plan

You walk out with

A 30-day content plan and one finished reel, reviewed live in the workshop later that week.

Make the kind of work brands pay for, before anyone has hired you.

  • What brands buy: brand deals, UGC and advertising, three different jobs
  • Three briefs from me, the same for every member, and a spec ad for each
  • Reading a brief, and asking what the campaign is actually for
  • Scripting an ad in five beats, with every shot named before you shoot
  • Editing it the way a brand will use it: captions, cut pauses, a clean master, colour last
  • Spec ads done properly: labelled SPEC AD on screen, never passed off as sponsored

You walk out with

Three finished spec ads, one for each of my three briefs.

Package your work into a kit a brand can say yes to, built live on the call.

  • A hands-on Claude session: paste the prompt, check every line, make it sound like you
  • Your media kit, top to bottom, with every number checkable
  • Your floor, and what to offer when a brand has no budget for a post
  • Pitch and follow-up emails you’d actually send

You walk out with

A fully designed, aesthetic media kit website and your pitch email templates.

Send real pitches to the right people, and handle what comes back.

  • Researching 50 brands and finding the right person to email
  • The hotels and brands most likely to say yes first
  • A pitch that leads with them, with the proof that matches
  • A pitch deck for the brands you want most: make your own, or build one with my Claude prompt
  • Replying to an offer: ask their range, know your floor, check a free stay before you say yes
  • A simple contract, an invoice, and delivering with a short report

You walk out with

50 brands researched, pitched and tracked, plus a contract and an invoice ready to use.

Leave with a system that keeps working after the calls end.

  • Turning brand deals into retainers
  • A 90-day plan built on what you can control
  • The next 100 pitches, adding one new thing at a time, and continuing to build your system
  • Guardrails so you don’t burn out, and the smallest version of a week
  • The Reveal: your Day 1 next to where you are now
  • Graduation

You walk out with

A 90-day plan, your progress revealed, and your next 100 pitches prepared.

Before you apply

Do I need an audience already?

No. With no audience and no client work yet, you’ll build sample adverts in Week 3.

What do I need?

A smartphone and wireless mics. Those are the essentials.

Is this just videos I watch on my own?

No. It’s a live cohort of 20, with two calls a week, and Maddie and I are with you for all six weeks. I review every piece of work you make.

What does it cost?

$2,000. You can pay it up front, in two payments of $1,100, or, if you’re in the US, in four interest-free payments through Afterpay or Klarna. Once you’re accepted, you have 7 days to pay and lock in your seat. There are no refunds.

How are members chosen?

From the written application only. We review applications as they come in, and seats fill in order. Applications close December 20, and everyone hears back by December 23.
